Back from Napa and at 32 I just can't drink as much as I used to. We had planned on at least a couple of wineries, but we started with V. Sattui to stock up on the port and madera, and ended up spending our whole time there. The guy helping us out with our tasting was overly generous with his pours(no complaints), giving us about a half a glass each pour and roughly ten tastings instead of six. Plus he didn't charge me for my tasting, even without knowing it was my birthday. Immediately after we grabbed a picnic lunch and a bottle of the gamay rouge (it's become tradition). It was a great time for me to test out the kit lens on my GF7 and the Lumix 35-100 f/4-5.6 lens I bought myself for my birthday.
Backtracking a little bit, here are photos of the lens when it arrived yesterday, along with a few test shots.

I'm really happy with the quality of photos from the lens, but I can already feel the limitation of 100mm. I keep hoping for a little more reach, which makes me question if the lens is a keeper for me. Don't get me wrong, it's a very solidly built lens that so far has performed very well under good lighting conditions, but even with one day of use I already feel as if it's lacking for what I want.
Here are photos from today, not many since I spent most of my time drinking, but once again, I'm very impressed with the quality from the Panasonic GF7 and the 12-32mm kit lens. One of the biggest surprises was the handheld night shot, even with my unsteady hand those shots ended up very usable.

After a day and a half of use, I'm still undecided on whether or not to keep the telephoto lens. On the one hand I am loving the quality of photos the lens produces, but on the other hand it does fall short for the zoom range. I'll have to think about it for a little longer, but regardless, it was a very fun birthday!
