I was excited the moment I heard my doorbell ring and saw two big packages from eBags waiting for me. Due to the extreme cold weather my packages were delayed from Thursday last week to today, which meant I spent all weekend in anticipation.
The packing cubes are beautiful, as expected. Just a reminder, I purchased the value pack from eBags which includes 1 large, 1 medium, 1 small, and 3 slim packing cubes. The large, medium, and small I've already used before, but I was wondering just how big the slim cubes would be since I read conflicting reviews, some said they were tiny, others said they were much bigger than anticipated. The verdict? I was surprised by how large they are, but it's a pleasant surprise. I had Daniele stuff the packing cubes just to see how they look filled. Even without packing carefully he was able to stuff two pairs of swim trunks and seven pairs of boxer briefs into the slim cubes.

eBags Packing Cubes In Denim |
Daniele is very happy with his raspberry set of packing cubes, let's see if my brother, Richard, will enjoy the denim ones. The value set adds many different packing combinations, but the use of all of them for one trip isn't necessary. Daniele stuffed random things into the large, small, and 2 slim packing cubes, while we stuffed two sweaters into the medium one just to bulk them up to test. This left him with one extra slim packing cube left empty. Great for packing away camera equipment or to leave empty for either laundry or purchases made along the way.
As for the eBags eTech 2.0 Weekender Convertible Junior, I was disappointed. Though a very well built bag, it's just a little too small. After packing it up with the large, small, and 2 slim packing cubes, Daniele and I both felt like we'd like a little extra room. With the Campmor Essential Carry-On after packing the large, medium, and small packing cubes there was always room for a pair of shoes and flip flops at the bottom of the bag and a sweater/jacket/gifts layered on top of the packing cubes. Because of the ridged outline of the eBags bag, there is no flexibility to "stretch" the bag when extras need to be packed away. Some people prefer the rigid structure and complain about the "floppiness" of the Campmor Essential Carry-On, but I much prefer the flexibility of being able to fit in a bit more to take home. Daniele even commented that there would be no way we could have fit into the eBags eTech bag everything I packed away in the Campmor bag for my brother's move to Germany. He also noticed that because of the more rigid shape of the Campmor bag it looks bigger than the Campmor even though the dimensions are smaller.

Sadly, after all the anticipation neither of us would actually use the eBags eTech 2.0 Weekender Convertible Junior, which means it will be returned.
Hopefully the Ecosusi packing cubes I purchased at the same time will not be a disappointment. They should be arriving by the end of the month.
